I am Cindy Richardson,
I started this community after searching for many years for a home school program that suited my sons needs.
I could not find a curriculum or lesson plan that was designed around utilising my sons strengths and interests. I would have loved to use a theme based system that involved creating a series of integrated lessons for all content areas, reading, writing, math, science etc that are supported by the theme being studied.
We used many different home school educational programs during the primary school years but none cater for my sons learning style.
Fostering an independent and autonomous learner who is skilled at decision-making, problem solving and planning is my goal for his high school years and beyond.
This year we started using the goal directed program recognised by the Australian Department of Education and we have not looked back. However there is very little information or help out there for the home schooling community to utilise.
